1457 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; ʿAli narrated to us; Sayyār narrated to us; Jaʿfar narrated: I heard Abū Kaʿb al-Azdī say, “I heard al-Ḥasan declare: ‘When you enjoin what is right, be of those whose counsel the people actually follow, or else you will perish. And when you forbid what is wrong, be the person who shows the greatest aversion to it, or else you will perish.’”
١٤٥٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ، حَدَّثَنَا سَيَّارٌ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا كَعْبٍ الْأَزْدِيَّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ، يَقُولُ: «إِذَا كُنْتَ آمِرًا بِالْمَعْرُوفِ فَكُنْ مَنْ أَخَذَ النَّاسُ بِهِ وَإِلَّا هَلَكْتَ، وَإِذَا كُنْتَ مِمَّنْ يَنْهَى عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ فَكُنْ مَنْ أَنْكَرَ النَّاسُ لَهُ وَإِلَّا هَلَكْتَ»
