1454 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; ʿAli narrated to us; Siyyar narrated to us; Jaʿfar narrated to us; al-ʿAlāʾ ibn Ziyād said: I heard al-Mughīra ibn Muḥāwish ask al-Hasan, saying:

“O Abū Saʿīd, we have met scholars who remind us and fill us with fear—so much so that they almost snatch our hearts away—while others speak with great ease.”

Al-Hasan replied, “O servant of Allah, the one who makes you afraid until you reach safety is better than the one who puts you at ease until you encounter fear.”
