1453 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Ali ibn Muslim narrated to us; Siyyar narrated to us; Jaʿfar narrated—he said: I heard Hawshab say: I heard al-Hasan, swearing by Allah, declare:
“By Allah, O son of Adam, if you recite the Qur’an and then truly believe in it, your sorrow in this world will certainly be prolonged, your fear in this world will certainly grow more intense, and your tears in this world will certainly become abundant.”
١٤٥٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَيَّارٌ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ حَوْشَبًا قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنُ، يَحْلِفُ بِاللَّهِ يَقُولُ: «وَاللَّهِ، يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ لَئِنْ قَرَأْتَ الْقُرْآنَ ثُمَّ آمَنْتَ بِهِ لَيَطُولَنَّ فِي الدُّنْيَا حُزْنُكَ وَلَيَشْتَدَّنَّ فِي الدُّنْيَا خَوْفُكَ، وَلَيَكْثُرَنَّ فِي الدُّنْيَا بُكَاؤُكَ»
