Al-ZuhdAhmad Ibn Hanbal
  1. ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; Muḥammad ibn Abī ʿAdī narrated to us, from Ibn ʿAwn, from Bakr: It was said to Abū Tamīmah, “How are you, Abū Tamīmah?” He replied, “I am between two blessings: a sin that is concealed and unknown to these people, and a remark I once made that has spread from tongue to tongue—because of it they have exalted me, yet by Allah, I have not reached that level, nor anything close to it.”
