1410 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Ahmad ibn Ibrahim narrated to us; Ali ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us; from Sulayman ibn al-Mughira; from one of his companions; from Ibn Muslim ibn Yasar:
When the Syrian troops entered Basra, they routed its people in the days of Ibn al-Ashʿath. The members of Muslim ibn Yasar’s household raised cries of alarm, whereupon his umm walad (bondwoman who had borne him a child) said to him, “Do you not hear the shouting?” He replied, “I did not hear it.”
