- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Ismaʿil narrated to us; from Ayyub, who said: I was informed that Mutarrif used to say, “I am in greater need of the jamaʿah (congregation) than a widow is, for when I am among the jamaʿah I recognize my sin.”
١٣٧٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ قَالَ: نُبِّئْتُ أَنَّ مُطَرِّفًا كَانَ يَقُولُ: «لَأَنَا أَحْوَجُ إِلَى الْجَمَاعَةِ مِنَ الْأَرْمَلَةِ إِنِّي إِذَا كُنْتُ فِي الْجَمَاعَةِ عَرَفْتُ ذَنْبِي»
