- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Bahz narrated to us; Jaʿfar ibn Sulayman narrated to us; Muhammad ibn Wasiʿ said:
“I was sitting in a study-circle in which were al-Hasan, Mutarrif, and several others. Saʿid ibn Abi al-Hasan spoke, and when he finished he supplicated, saying in his prayer, ‘Allahumma irḍa ʿanhā’ (O Allah, be pleased with it) — he said it three times. Mutarrif then said, ‘Allahumma in lam tarḍa ʿannā faʿfu ʿannā’ (O Allah, if You are not pleased with us, then pardon us). Mutarrif’s words moved them all to tears.”} ത

١٣٧٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ وَاسِعٍ قَالَ: كُنْتُ فِي حَلْقَةٍ فِيهَا الْحَسَنُ وَمُطَرِّفٌ وَفُلَانٌ وَفُلَانٌ فَتَكَلَّمَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ حَتَّى إِذَا قَضَى كَلَامَهُ دَعَا فَقَالَ فِي دُعَائِهِ: اللَّهُمَّ ارْضَ عَنْهَا ثَلَاثًا قَالَ: يَقُولُ مُطَرِّفٌ: " اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ لَمْ تَرْضَ عَنَّا فَاعْفُ عَنَّا قَالَ: فَأَبْكَاهُمْ مُطَرِّفٌ "
