- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; ʿAffan and Surayj narrated to us, saying: Mahdi narrated to us. Surayj said, on the authority of Ghaylan, from Mutarrif, that he used to say, “Guard yourselves against people by exercising cautious suspicion.”
١٣٥٤ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، وَسُرَيْجٌ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا مَهْدِيٌّ، قَالَ سُرَيْجٌ: عَنْ غَيْلَانَ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ: «احْتَرِسُوا مِنَ النَّاسِ بِسُوءِ الظَّنِّ»
