- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; Abu Saʿid, the client of the Banu Hashim, narrated to us; al-Salt ibn Tarif al-Maʿwali narrated to us; Ghailan ibn Jarir, from Mutarrif, who said:
“I have found that the human being lies cast between Allah and Satan. If Allah knows some good in his heart, He pulls him toward Himself; but if He finds no good there, He leaves him to his own self—and whoever is left to his own self is ruined.”
