Al-ZuhdAhmad Ibn Hanbal
  1. ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; ʿAbd al-Wahhab al-Thaqafī narrated to us; from Ishaq—meaning Ibn Suwayd—from Mutarrif, who said:

“If I were made to stand between Paradise and Hell and a voice called out, ‘O Mutarrif, would you like us to tell you which of the two will be yours?’ it would be dearer to me to become cold, lifeless ashes than to be told in which of the two I belong.”
