1322. ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; Sayyār narrated to us; Jaʿfar narrated to us; Thābit narrated to us, from Muttarrif ibn ʿAbd Allah, who used to say:

“Death has spoiled the delight of those who live in luxury, so seek a bliss in which there is no death. By Allah, if this very gathering of ours was decreed for us by Allah in the earlier Book, then excellent indeed is what has been decreed for us; and if Allah has granted it to us as part of our allotted share, then excellent indeed is that which has been allotted to us.”
