- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; Sayyār narrated to us; Jaʿfar narrated to us; al-Muʿallā ibn Ziyād al-Qurdūsī narrated to us. He said: Muttarrif ibn ʿAbd Allah’s brother was in his company, and they went on at length discussing Paradise. Muttarrif then said, “I do not understand what you are saying—for when the Fire is mentioned, it comes between me and Paradise.”
١٣٢١ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا سَيَّارٌ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعَلَّى بْنُ زِيَادٍ الْقُرْدُوسِيُّ قَالَ: كَانَ أَخُو مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عِنْدَهُ فَأَفَاضُوا فِي ذِكْرِ الْجَنَّةِ فَقَالَ مُطَرِّفٌ: «لَا أَدْرِي مَا تَقُولُونَ حَالَ ذِكْرِ النَّارِ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ الْجَنَّةِ»
