1299 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; ʿAbd al-Ṣamad ibn ʿAbd al-Wārith narrated to us; ʿAbd Allah ibn Bakr al-Muzanī narrated to us, from Marwān al-Aṣfar, who said:
Al-Aḥnaf ibn Qays used to say, “O Allah, if You punish me, I am indeed worthy of it; but if You forgive me, You alone are worthy of that.”
