1297 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; ʿAffān narrated to us; Ḥammād narrated to us; a shaykh from the clan of Tamīm narrated to us. He said: al-Ahnaf ibn Qays remarked, “Indeed, what often holds me back from speaking at length is fear of the rejoinder.”
