1280 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Yunus narrated to us; Shayban narrated to us, from Qatadah who said: We were told that when death came to Harim b. Hayyan it was said to him, “Make your bequest.” He replied: “I do not know what I should bequeath, but sell my coat of mail and settle my debt for me; if that does not cover it, then sell my servant. I also counsel you to hold fast to the closing verses of Surah al-Nahl: ‘Call ⦗188⦘ to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good exhortation’ (al-Nahl 125) up to His words: ‘And if you endure patiently, that is indeed better for those who are patient’ (al-Nahl 126).”
