1269 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said, “I was informed by Sayyār. ʿAbd Allah ibn Shumayṭ narrated to us, from his father, who said:
‘He used to say, “Whoever is content with al-fisq (open sinfulness) is counted among its folk, and whoever is pleased that Allah be disobeyed, none of his deeds will be raised up for him.”’
ʿAbd Allah ibn Shumayṭ added, “I heard my father say:
‘The believer’s capital is his religion; wherever it goes, he goes with it. He does not leave it behind with the luggage, nor does he entrust it to other men.’”
