1258 – ‘Abd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; ‘Affan narrated to us; Ja‘far ibn Sulayman narrated to us; and Malik ibn Dinar narrated to us, who said: A person who had observed ‘Amir ibn ‘Abd Qays told me that he once asked for some oil, poured it onto his hand—and Ja‘far described how he rubbed one hand over the other—then recited, “It emerges from Mount Sinai, producing oil ⦗185⦘ and relish for those who eat” (al-Mu’minun, 20). He then applied the oil to his head and his beard.
