1245 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; ʿAbd al-Razzaq narrated to us; Maʿmar reported to us, from Muhammad ibn Wasiʿ, from Abu al-ʿAlaʾ ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Shikhkhir, who said: The nephew of ʿĀmir ibn ʿAbd Qays informed me that whenever ʿĀmir received his stipend, he would place it in the corner of his cloak. He never encountered a needy person who asked him for help without giving him something from it. When he reached his household, he would throw what remained to them; they would count it and find it exactly equal to the amount he had first been given.
