- ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Numayr related to us; Abū Muʿāwiyah narrated to us; Burayd ibn Abī Burdah narrated to us, from Abū Burdah, from Abū Mūsā, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ declared, “Allah gives the wrong-doer time, but when He seizes him, He never lets him escape.” He then recited, “Such is the seizure of your Lord when He seizes the towns while they are committing injustice” (Hūd 11:102).
١٢٠ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا بُرَيْدُ بْنُ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «إِنَّ اللَّهَ – Exalté soit-Il – يُمْلِي لِلظَّالِمِ فَإِذَا أَخَذَهُ لَمْ يُفْلِتْهُ» ثُمَّ قَرَأَ ﴿وَكَذَلِكَ أَخْذُ رَبِّكَ إِذَا أَخَذَ الْقُرَى وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٌ﴾ [هود: ١٠٢] "
