1164 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Abu Bakr narrated to us; Yahya ibn Bayan narrated to us, from Ibn ʿAjlan, from Abu ʿIsa, who said: ʿAbd Allah (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “Among the highest expressions of humility are to be content with a lowly place in a gathering and to be the first to offer the salām (greeting of peace) to everyone you meet.”
