1156 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us; my father narrated, saying: “Whenever morning came, Muʿādhah al-ʿAdawiyyah would say, ‘This is the day on which I shall die,’ and she would not sleep until nightfall. When night descended she would say, ‘This is the night on which I shall die,’ and she would not sleep until daybreak. And when the weather turned cold she would put on only the thinnest clothes so that the cold would keep her from sleeping.”
