1152 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; ʿUbayd Allah ibn Muhammad narrated to us; he said: I heard Ibn ʿĀmir say:

Ghazwān had a mother who, whenever she noticed how absorbed he was in the Quran, would say, “You there, who have become so preoccupied—what do you find in it?” He would reply, “I find in it a beautiful promise and a severe warning.” We would then say to him, “Do you see in it anything about the she-camel Anīq that we lost in such-and-such a year?” He would answer, “I find in it a beautiful promise and a severe warning.”
