1137 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: My father narrated to me; Yaḥyā ibn Ādam narrated to us; Ibn al-Mubārak narrated to us, from al-Awzāʿī, from Yaḥyā ibn Abī Kathīr, who said: Kaʿb once overheard a man reciting (the Quran), making supplication, and the like. He listened to him, then went on his way, saying, “Alas for those who wail over themselves before the Day of Resurrection!”
