1127 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; ʿUbayd Allah ibn ʿUmar al-Qawārīrī narrated to us; Jaʿfar—meaning Ibn Sulaymān—narrated to us. He said: I heard Abū ʿImrān al-Jawni, who said that Jundub ibn ʿAbd Allah narrated:
A man among the earlier generations once said, “By Allah, Allah will never forgive So-and-so!” Allah—exalted is He—then revealed to the Prophet of that time: “Inform him that I have indeed forgiven that man, and I have nullified all your deeds because of the oath you uttered.”
