1125 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Sālim al-Murādī narrated to us, from al-Ḥasan, from Jundub, who said:
He said to his companions, “Recite the Quran as much as your hardship and poverty allow. Should a trial befall you, then give up your wealth rather than your religion; and if you fear for your religion still, then give your very blood before you surrender it. For the truly dispossessed is the one whose religion is assaulted, and the truly robbed is the one whose religion is taken away. There is no poverty after Paradise, and there is no affluence after the Fire; in Hell its poor will never become self-sufficient, nor will its captives ever be released.”
