1101 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; ʿAbd al-Samad narrated to us; Abu Hilal narrated to us; Humayd ibn Hilal, from Abu Ghalib, from Yunus ibn Jubayr, from Anas, who said:

Abu Musa said to me, “Prepare my things, O Anas,” and he announced to the people, “I shall set out in three days.” When the appointed time arrived he asked, “O Anas, are you finished?” I replied, “Such-and-such still remains.” He said, “I am leaving.” I said, “If only you would stay until it is done.” He replied, “I dislike to lie to my family and have them lie to me, and to betray their trust and have them betray me.”
