1079 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; Hāshim narrated to me; ʿIṣām narrated to us, from his father, who said:

Ibn Jaʿfar ibn Nāfiʿ gave ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUmar ten thousand—or one thousand—dinars. Ibn ʿUmar then came in to his wife, Ṣafiyya, and said, “Ibn Jaʿfar ibn Nāfiʿ has just given me ten thousand—or one thousand—dinars.” She replied, “O Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, what are you waiting for? Go and trade with it!” He answered, “Shall I not do something better than that? I will dedicate it for the sake of Allah—Exalted is He.”
