- ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; Ḥasan ibn ʿĪsā narrated to us; ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Mubārak informed us; Saʿīd ibn Yazīd related to me, from Abū al-Samḥ, from ʿĪsā ibn Hilāl al-Ṣadafī, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ—may Allah be pleased with them—who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “If a piece of lead like this”—and he pointed to something the size of a human skull—“were cast from the sky toward the earth, a distance that would normally take five hundred years to traverse, it would reach the earth before nightfall. Yet were it cast from the top of the (Hell-) chain, it would keep falling for forty autumns—night and day—before reaching its base.”
١٠٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ عِيسَى، أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِي السَّمْحِ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ هِلَالٍ الصَّدَفِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «لَوْ أَنَّ رَصَاصَةً مِثْلَ هَذِهِ، وَأَشَارَ إِلَى مِثْلِ الْجُمْجُمَةِ أُرْسِلَتْ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ وَهِيَ مَسِيرَةُ خَمْسِمِائَةِ سَنَةٍ لَبَلَغَتِ الْأَرْضَ قَبْلَ اللَّيْلِ، وَلَوْ أَنَّهَا أُرْسِلَتْ مِنْ رَأْسِ السِّلْسِلَةِ لَسَارَتْ أَرْبَعِينَ خَرِيفًا؛ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ، قَبْلَ أَنْ تَبْلُغَ أَصْلَهَا»
