1016 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Khalaf narrated to us; Khalid narrated to us, from ʿAṭāʾ ibn al-Sāʾib, from Shaqīq ibn Salamah, who said:
We visited Abū Masʿūd ʿUqbah ibn ʿAmr al-Anṣārī and said to him, “Advise us.” He replied, “Fear Allah. I seek refuge from waking to the Fire. Beware of fickleness in religion: whatever you recognize as true today, do not reject it tomorrow, and whatever you reject today, do not recognize it tomorrow.”
