- ʿAbd Allāh reported to us; my father informed us; Ibn Mahdī narrated to us; Hammām narrated to us, from Qatādah, from Khulayḍ al-ʿAṣrī, from Abū al-Dardāʾ, who said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“No sun ever rises without two angels flanking it who call out, making themselves heard by every creature on earth except the two weighty kinds (humankind and jinn): ‘O people, come to your Lord! For a little that suffices is better than an abundance that distracts.’
And no sun ever sets without two angels being dispatched on either side of it who call out, making themselves heard by every creature on earth except the two weighty kinds: ‘O Allah, grant a replacement to the one who spends, and visit ruin upon the one who withholds.’”
