989 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to me; ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated to me. He said: I heard al-Awzāʿī, from Yaḥyā ibn Abī Kathīr, who said: It was said to Abū Hurayrah, “Will you not mount up and go to meet So-and-so?” He replied, “I dislike to board any conveyance for which I cannot be sure of Allah’s guarantee—exalted is He.”
