987 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; my father narrated to us; Rawḥ narrated to us; ʿAwf narrated to us, from Abū al-Salīl, who said: Abū Hurayrah remarked, “You have not been honest with yourselves: you set your hopes on what you will never attain, you hoard what you will never eat, and you build what you will never inhabit.”
