975 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: I was informed by Sayyar; Yusuf ibn ʿAtiyyah narrated to us; Ibrahim ibn ʿIsa al-Yashkuri narrated to us; he said: I heard Bakr ibn ʿAbd Allah al-Muzani say, “Whenever I leave my house, I meet no one without considering him better than myself; for I am certain about my own soul, whereas regarding other people I remain in doubt.”
٩٧٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ: أُخْبِرْتُ عَنْ سَيَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عِيسَى الْيَشْكُرِيُّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ بَكْرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيَّ، يَقُولُ: إِنِّي لَأَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْتِي، فَمَا أَلْقَى أَحَدًا إِلَّا رَأَيْتُ لَهُ عَلَيَّ الْفَضْلَ؛ لِأَنِّي مِنْ نَفْسِي عَلَى يَقِينٍ، أَمَّا مِنَ النَّاسِ فِي شَكٍّ "
