962 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us, al-Hasan ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAziz narrated to us. He said: I heard Yahya ibn Hassan say: “More than once I saw Fudayl and felt compassion for him. One day I came upon him and he had with him only a small handful of date pits; he meant to go to a grocer and exchange them for something. I did not ask him about anything and then left him. May Allah have mercy on him.”
