69 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Aḥmad ibn Ibrāhīm al-ʿAbdī informed us; he said: I heard a man from Isfahān relating to ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mahdī. He said:
“Muḥammad ibn Yūsuf’s brother wrote to him complaining about the injustice of the officials, so he replied: ‘My brother, your letter has reached me detailing what you are going through. It is unfitting for one who has engaged in disobedience to protest the punishment, and I see what you are experiencing as nothing but the ominous consequence of sins.’”
