6 – ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; he said: al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī al-ʿIjlī narrated to me; he said: Abū Usāmah narrated to us; he said: ʿUmar ibn Ḥamzah al-ʿUmarī narrated to us, from Nāfiʿ ibn Mālik Abū Suhayl, from Anas ibn Mālik, who said:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The words Lā ilāha illā Allāh (there is no god but Allah) protect the servants from Allah’s wrath as long as they do not prefer a worldly bargain to their religion. But when they do put a worldly transaction ahead of their faith and then say, ‘There is no god but Allah,’ it is hurled back at them, and Allah – Exalted is He – says, ‘You have lied.’”
