57 – ‘Abd Allah narrated to us; he said: Suraij ibn Yunus informed us; he said: Hafs ibn Ghiyath narrated to us; he said: Ashʿath informed us, from Jahm, from Ibrahim, who said: ⦗53⦘
“It was revealed to a prophet among the prophets: ‘Say to your people: There is no town, no household, and no individual who are upon obedience to Allah and then turn from it to disobedience, except that Allah turns for them what they love into what they detest. And there is no town, household, or individual who are upon disobedience to Allah and then turn from it to obedience, except that Allah turns for them what they detest into what they love. Tell your people to act and not merely rely (on wishful thinking), for none of My creation … when brought to the Reckoning but that punishment becomes his due.’”
