49 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Yusuf ibn Musa informed us; he said: ʿAbd Allah ibn Musa narrated to me; he said: Razin, the pomegranate seller, narrated to me, from Abu al-Ruqad, who said: I went out with my master, and we came to Hudhayfah while he was saying, “During the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a man could utter a single word and thereby become a hypocrite, yet today I hear that very word four times in one sitting. You must enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and urge one another to goodness, or else Allah the Exalted will assuredly sweep all of you away with a punishment, or He will set the worst of you in authority over you; then your best people will supplicate, and they will not be answered.”
٤٩ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي رَزِينٌ بَيَّاعُ الرُّمَّانِ، عَنْ أَبِي الرُّقَادِ، قَالَ: خَرَجْتُ مَعَ مَوْلَايَ، فَانْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى حُذَيْفَةَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: «إِنْ كَانَ الرَّجُلُ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ، فَيَصِيرُ بِهَا مُنَافِقًا، وَإِنِّي لَأَسْمَعُهَا الْيَوْمَ فِي الْمَقْعَدِ الْوَاحِدِ أَرْبَعَ مَرَّاتٍ، لَتَأْمُرُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَلَتَنْهَوُنَّ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَلَتَحَاضُّنَّ عَلَى الْخَيْرِ، أَوْ لَيُسْحِتَنَّكُمُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى جَمِيعًا بِعَذَابٍ، أَوْ لَيُؤَمِّرَنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ شِرَارَكُمْ، ثُمَّ يَدْعُو خِيَارُكُمْ فَلَا يُسْتَجَابُ لَهُمْ»
