337 – ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; he said: Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī informed us; he said: Qabīṣah ibn ʿUqbah informed us; he said: ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn al-Mājishūn narrated to us, from Muḥammad ibn al-Munkadir, from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allāh:

“A man from the Anṣār died and was buried. The next morning the earth had thrown him out, so they went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and told him what had happened. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, ‘The earth certainly covers people who are worse than he, but he has been made a lesson for you.’ Then he said, ‘Go back and bury him once more.’ They re-interred him, and the earth no longer cast him out.”
