336 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us, saying: Yahya al-Himmani narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Mubarak informed us, from Ibn Lahiʿah, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, who said: “News has reached me that most of the men who marched against ʿUthman (may Allah be pleased with him) went mad.” Ibn al-Mubarak commented, “Madness is too slight a retribution for them.”
