334 – ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; he said: Fudayl related to us; he said: ʿAlī ibn ʿUmārah informed us; he said: I heard Qatādah say: ⦗212⦘
“On the first occasion Allah sent against them Goliath the Jazirite; he killed many and took captives. Then Allah returned the advantage to the Children of Israel. Concerning His words, ‘So when the final promise came to pass’ (Q 17:7), Allah sent against them Nebuchadnezzar.”
