- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd al-Rahman narrated to us; he said: al-Ashjaʿi narrated to us, from ʿUmar b. ʿAmir al-Bajali, who said: ⦗211⦘ “Allah revealed to a prophet among the prophets: ‘Tell your people not to address Me in intimate supplication while sins still hang upon their eyelids. Let them cast those sins away first, and only then raise their needs to Me.’”
٣٣٢ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْأَشْجَعِيُّ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْبَجَلِيِّ، قَالَ: ⦗٢١١⦘ " أَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَى نَبِيٍّ مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ: أَنْ مُرْ قَوْمَكَ لَا يُنَاجُونِي وَالْآثَامُ فِي أَجْفَانِهِمْ، لِيُلْقُوهَا ثُمَّ لِيَرْفَعُوا إِلَيَّ حَاجَاتِهِمْ "
