326 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us, saying: Yusuf b. Musa narrated to us, saying: ʿAbd al-Rahman b. Maghraʾ narrated to us, saying: al-Aʿmash informed us, from Abu Ayyub, from ʿAbd Allah b. ʿAmr b. al-ʿAs, who said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The Hour will not come until obscenity spreads, ties of kinship are severed, neighborly relations are abused, the treacherous are trusted, and the trustworthy are deemed treacherous.”
Someone asked, “O Messenger of Allah, what will the believer be like on that day?” He replied, “Like a date-palm: it may be knocked down but it does not break; its fruit may be eaten yet it never spoils; and it produces only what is wholesome. Or like a piece of gold cast into the fire and then withdrawn, coming out only the better.”
