36 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAbd Allah al-Harawī narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Ismāʿīl ibn Abī Fudayk informed us; he said: ʿAmr ibn ʿUthmān ibn Hāniʾ narrated to me, from ʿĀṣim ibn ʿUmar ibn ʿUthmān, from ʿUrwah, from ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said:
The Prophet (ﷺ) entered upon me while he was short of breath. I could see on his face that something was weighing on him. He did not speak until he had performed ablution and gone out. I pressed myself against the wall of the apartment, and he ascended the pulpit, praised Allah and extolled Him, then said:
“O people, Allah—blessed and exalted—says to you: ‘Enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong before you call upon Me and I do not answer you, before you ask of Me and I do not grant you, and before you seek My help and I do not aid you.’”
