311 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us, saying: al-Qasim ibn Hashim told us; he said: Yahya ibn Salih al-Wuhaẓi narrated to us; he said: Dawud ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman al-ʿAttar related; he said: Abu Khaythama told me, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Huwaytib ibn ʿAbd al-ʿUzza, who said: “Inside the Kaʿbah there were rings like the halters of young camels. When a frightened person placed his hand in one of them, no one would dare trouble him. One day a man in fear came to put his hand into a ring, but another man pulled him away, whereupon the latter’s right hand became paralysed. He lived on to witness Islam, and he was still paralysed.”
