Al-'UqubatIbn Abi al-Dunya

309 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us, saying: al-Hasan ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAziz al-Jarawi told me; he said: ʿAsim ibn Abi Bakr al-Zuhri narrated to us; he said: Malik ibn Anas, Ibn Abi Hazim, and al-Mughira ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman informed us:

“Yusuf ibn Yunus ibn Himas once had a woman pass by him, and his heart inclined toward her. He therefore called upon Allah, and his sight was taken away. For many years after that he would come and go to the mosque blind, led by others. Then, one day, he felt a stirring in his bowels after his guide had gone off; finding no one to lead him, Allah restored his sight, and he remained clear-sighted until he died.”
