298 – ‘Abd Allāh narrated to us; he said: Ibrāhīm related to me; he said: Mūsā ibn Ayyūb narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn Shuʿayb narrated, saying, “I heard ʿUrwah ibn Ruwaym al-Lakhamī comment on the Almighty’s words, ‘Then the thunderbolt struck you while you were looking on’ (al-Baqarah 55):

‘It struck some of them while the rest were standing and watching. Their companions were then restored to them, and afterward the thunderbolt seized the remaining half while those now stood watching.’

He then recited, ‘Then We raised you up after your death so that you might give thanks’ (al-Baqarah 56).”
