297 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Ibrahim ibn Saʿid narrated to me; he said: Musa ibn Ayyub narrated to us; he said: Damrah narrated to us, from Ibn Shawdhab, from Kathir ibn Ziyad, who said: “Alas! People only grow harsher when the scholars are taken away.”
٢٩٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ضَمْرَةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شَوْذَبٍ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، قَالَ: «يَا وَيْلُ، لَا يَزْدَادُ النَّاسُ إِلَّا شِدَّةً لِإِذْهَابِ الْعُلَمَاءِ»
