32 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Harun ibn ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Sayyar narrated to us; he said: Jaʿfar narrated to us; he said: ʿAnbasah al-Khawwaṣ narrated to us, from Qatadah, who said:
“Moses son of ʿImran said, ‘My Lord, You are in the heavens while we are on earth; how can we tell the sign of Your anger from that of Your pleasure?’ He replied, ‘When I place your best people in authority over you, that is a sign of My pleasure with you; and when I place your worst people in authority over you, that is a sign of My wrath against you.’”
