283 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Muhammad ibn Yazid al-ʿIjli narrated to us; he said: Hafs ibn ʿUmar ibn ʿAmir ibn Yazid ibn Rifaʿah narrated to us; he said: Jabir ibn Yazid ibn Rifaʿah narrated to us; he said: al-Shaʿbi asked us, “Which day is the most severe?” We replied, “The Day of Resurrection.” He said, “In the same way, every day that draws nearer to the Day of Resurrection is more severe than the day that preceded it.”
